SANNAYA develops her own system of painting, in which the image is not predetermined but emerges in the process.
At the core of her practice is the concept of meta-entities, developed by the artist—hybrid biological constructs that generate the image from within.
SANNAYA’s practice operates outside existing artistic movements and forms an independent line within contemporary painting.
Form unfolds through the movement of meta-entities—vibration, disintegration, and regeneration. The image remains in a constant state of transformation.
The viewer engages with the work: perception continuously reconstructs the image with each encounter.
The painting is not fixed.
The image is dynamic.
SANNAYA was born in 1966 in Poltava, Ukraine, a former republic of the USSR.
From an early age, she demonstrated an exceptional artistic ability: at the age of twelve she created her first monumental work, an imposing fresco over two meters in height
She graduated as an artist from the Dnipropetrovsk Art College . From there she was selected for 5 years of post-graduate studies at Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts
In 1999 she moved to France. SANNAYA now lives and works in Paris, where its unique artistic language was formed.
A profound personal experience of loss and confrontation with life-threatening illness became a turning point, leading to a deep internal transformation and the emergence of a state the artist describes as a “space of silence.”
Within this space, her artistic system was formed, where painting is understood as a dynamic space that brings together matter, memory, and movement.
Her works have been exhibited internationally, including Art en Capital at the Grand Palais, Paris, PinchukArtCentre, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, the Mark Hachem Gallery, and Ruarts Gallery.
